Hunt Merriam's turkey and whitetail deer at Ash Creek Ranch near Crawford in northwestern Nebraska.  Hunting packages are available for firearm, shotgun, archery and blackpowder seasons.

Other wildlife that can be seen in the Pine Ridge include elk, Big Horn Sheep, bobcats, coyotes, and mountain lions.

The rugged terrain of Ash Creek Ranch comes as a surprise to those who believe that Nebraska is flat.  The Pine Ridge area of northwestern Nebraska is an escarpment rising more than a thousand feet above the lower-lying prairies.  Partially covered with ponderosa pine trees, these hills are bisected with deep canyons that provide drainage for creeks and springs.  At an altitude of approximately 4,500 feet, nearly as high as Denver, the area has a wide variety of wildlife that includes elk, big horn sheep, whitetail and mule deer, Merriam's turkeys, coyotes, bobcat and an occasional mountain lion.
Ash Creek Ranch consists of more than 1800 private acres adjacent to the Ponderosa Wildlife Management Area and the Nebraska National Forest.  The headquarters and bunkhouse are situated approximately in the center of the ranch within easy walking distance of prime deer and turkey hunting.
